Nestled more than 400 meters above the Agly valley and the Têt valley, Clos 58 plots in appellation Côtes-du-Roussillon Villages Caramany benefit from the Tramontane (Northern wind) that cleanses their plants allowing them to grow wine in an eco-responsible way.

Clos 58 is first and foremost the story of friends: Sylvie, Victoire, Gilles and Marc. Four mates who met long, long ago… far, far away from the vineyards of Cassagnes ! Then, in 2023, Christelle and Xavier joined us, driven by the same passion for wine making. The Clos 58 has been enriched by their savoir-faire, their energy and, above all, their friendship. A wonderful team at the helm of Le Clos 58!

The name Cassagnes originates from “Cass”, an oak grove. In Occitan the name becomes “Cassanhes”. This village of the Fenouillèdes region is first mentioned in 889 under the name “Cassanias”. The name then disappears during the higher Middle-Age. We guess it was only a small farming parish with no wall or castle. A land of modest origins that managed to keep its authenticity throughout the centuries. Today Cassagnes is actively participating in the renewal of Caramany wines with deep, genuine and timeless terroir wines.
